ADMISSIONS VENUE: AU CONVOCATION HALL

With reference to the application for admission into Andhra University Colleges of  Commerce and Management Studies; Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities, Visakhapatnam/AU  campus at Srikakulam, Kakinada, Vizianagaram and Tadepalligudem and all Affiliated Colleges where PG courses in Arts & Commerce covered under AUCET-2005 are offered, for the academic year 2005-2006, the candidate is hereby directed to appear before the Admission Committee for Admission-Interview at the venue, date and time noted at the Admission Schedule (Annexure-II), at his/her own expenses with all the required original certificates (including the prescribed fee as given in Annexure-I, in the form of Demand Draft on any  nationalized bank, drawn in favour of the Registrar, Andhra University, payable at Visakhapatnam.  The candidate has to write his/her name, subject and rank on the reverse side of the DD at a corner.   He/she should be present at the Venue before half-an-hour of the scheduled  time on the date notified for the subject he/she belongs to.  His/her candidature will not be considered under any circumstances, if he/she comes late to the Venue even though he/she gets admission.

Copies of the Admission Schedule (Annexure-II) along with this Admission Interview Memo and its enclosures, are posted to all the candidates, who got a rank in AUCET-2005 irrespective of their rank whether appeared/not appeared in the schedule. Those who received this Memo are directed to treat this as Call Letter for Admission into the course which he/she opted.  Hence, no individual call letter will be sent to the candidates mentioning  their name, rank and address.  But they shall verify the rank card of AUCET-2005 with this Interview Memo.  Please note that such candidates whose rank is not mentioned  in the Admission Schedule need not attend the Admission Interview.  It is also to be noted that since more number of candidates are called than the required number to hasten the process of admission, this intimation does not guarantee admission.  The admission process may continue for the next day, if it is required.   The candidate should come prepared for overnight stay, if necessary, on his/her ownIf selected for admission, the candidate has to pay the prescribed fee, immediately.  In case the candidate fails to pay the fee or fails to submit the documents stated hereunder, he/she will have to forego the admission.  No extension of time for producing the certificates or for paying fee shall be granted and no representation whatsoever will be entertained in this regard.  The fee receipt should be shown to the concerned Head of the Department/Special Officers of AU Campuses/ Principal of Affiliated College concerned. However, arrangements are being made to provide Bank counters at the Admission venue itself to facilitate the candidates to get their DDs on the spot. The candidate has to write his name and address, AUCET-2005 rank number and subject and also the name of the College where he/she is allotted.

While attending the counseling, the candidate has to read carefully all the instructions noted in the Admission Information Brochure of AUCET-2005.  However some important points are furnished hereunder  :

 
Certificates Required:

I.

The following Original certificates to be brought by the candidate to the admission interview :
 

a)

Hall-ticket and Rank Card issued by the Convener, AUCET-2005
 

b)

Original statement of marks and Provisional /Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination(with two Xerox copies)
 

c)

Transfer and Conduct certificate from the Institution where the candidate studied last.   If it is not the practice to issue TC for any course, the candidate has to produce the TC of the lower degree of the qualifying examination.  
 

d)

Study certificate(s) from IX class onwards or Residence Certificate for preceeding  seven years of the qualifying examination.
 

e)

Permanent Caste Certificate in the case of SC/ST/BC-C and other Listed Backward classes candidates in the prescribed form (with three Xerox copies) issued by competent authority.
 

f)

Latest Income Certificate in the case of SC/ST/BC-C and other Listed Backward Classes candidates in the prescribed form (with three Photostat copies) issued by competent authority (The validity of the certificate is one year from the date of issue)
 

g)

Certificates in prescribed format from the competent authority in support of the claim of the candidate for a seat under other reserved categories, if any, such as NCC, Children of Armed Personnel, Sports, Physically Handicapped.
 

h)

Date of Birth certificate (SSC or Matriculation or its equivalent) with two Xerox copies.
 

i)

Physical Fitness Certificate from a Medical Officer of Andhra University or from a Civil Assistant Surgeon.
 

j)

Migration Certificate (in the case of candidates from other Universities only) to be submitted to the University along with the examination application.
 

k)

Four attested copies of pass port size photos recently taken.
 

l)

Fee prescribed in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Andhra University, payable at Visakhapatnam (the details of fee to be paid by the candidate are given at Annexure-I)
 


                                                                                                                                                                            
General Instructions

Since the candidate has to surrender all the original certificates to the concerned Principal of the University College/Principal of the Affiliated Colleges where he/she gets admission before payment of course fee, he/she is advised to keep sufficient number of Attested Photostat copies of all the certificates with him/her, for their use after the admission process.  Once the original certificates taken by the authorities, they will not be issued until the candidate completes the course.
 

III

The details of the courses, and the particulars of distribution of seats in each course are given in the University Website.  Important rules and regulations are given hereunder for ready reference.
 

IV

SC/ST/BC-C candidates seeking admission into PG courses and whose parental/guardian annual income does not exceed Rs. 50,920/- (in case of professional courses) and Rs. 38,220/- (in case of non-professional courses) will be given fee concession at the time of admission, subject to their eligibility as per rules, provided they produce caste and income certificates obtained from the appropriate authority in the prescribed format.  In case the income limit exceeds they have to pay full fee and they are not eligible to get scholarship from the Government.   However, if the University does not receive reimbursement of tuition fee to the extent of fee amount from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, such candidates have to pay the prescribed fee as mentioned in the fee structure schedule against 'Others' column for that.
 

V

Listed Backward Classes candidates (BC-A, BC-B and BC-D) seeking admission into PG courses offered at AU Colleges, AU Campus whose parental/guardian annual income does not exceed Rs. 44,500/- (in case of professional courses) and Rs. 33,400/- (in case of non-professinal courses) will be given fee concession at the time of admission, subject to their eligibility as per rules, provided they produce caste and income certificates obtained from the appropriate authority in the prescribed format.  Hoping that the Government will reimburse an amount of Rs. 750/- we are allowing these candidates for fee concession in the regular stream seats to the extent of this amount only.  (For payment and self-finance courses and courses offered at Affiliated Colleges, this concession is not applicable).  In case the income limit exceeds they have to pay full fee and they are not eligible to get scholarship from the Government.
 

VI

The candidates belonging to SC/ST/LBC categories claiming fee concessions through their annual income limit, are hereby informed that they must produce the Latest Income Certificates issued by competent authority along with the Permanent Community Certificate.  It is a must, otherwise, they have to pay the full fee as notified in the schedule, and it is further informed that they cannot claim such amount after their admission.  Hence, they are directed to attend with all these certificates. 
 

VII

Candidates with Graduate TCs are only eligible for admission into regular  PG Courses  and the candidates who did PG or discontinued PG Courses in  University campus, PG Centres,  affiliated colleges, Distance Education, Private Studies are not eligible for admission into regular PG Courses.. Incase of M.A. HRD, M.A. Criminal Justice Law Graduates are also eligible.
 

VIII

Physically Handicapped category:  The candidates who seek admission through this category are directed to appear before the Panel of Doctors for physical verification along with the Disability Certificate (in original) issued by the District Medical Board of the concerned District, at the place, time and date noted in the Annexure-II, in the process of fixation of priorities among the candidates present.  The admissions are based on the priorities fixed by the Panel of Doctors only and subject to availability of seats in the particular course/college, according to rules noted in the Admission Brochure and in University website http://www.andhrauniversity.info/
 

IX

Children of Armed Personnel category :  The candidates who seek admission through this category are directed to appear before the Admission Committee along with all the original certificates including the certificate(s)  issued by the competent authority, as per the formats given in the Admission Information Brochure., and given in the University Website at the place, time and date noted in the Annexure-II, in the process of fixation of priorities among the candidates present. 
 

X

N.C.C. category :  The candidates who seek admission through this category are directed to appear before the Admission Committee along with all the original certificates including the certificates required as per the Admission Information Brochure for  verification by the Committee.  The admissions are based on the priorities fixed by the Committee and subject to availability of seats in the particular course/college.
 

XI

Sports category:  The candidates who seek admission through this category are directed to appear before the Admission Committee along with all the original certificates including the sports certificates. 
 

XII

a)  Only Local candidates are eligible for admission under Special categories, i.e. Physically Handicapped/Sports/Children of Armed Personnel/NCC categories.

b)  Candidates from Shri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam, Tirupati belonging to AU area are also be considered as local candidates.
 

XIII

Changes in admission schedule, if any, will be intimated through Registered Letters/News Papers/All India Radio.  DO NOT RELY ON TELEGRAMS.  THEY MAY BE FALSE.
 

XIV

Very limited Hostel accommodation is available for those students who get admission into University Campus Colleges. Hence, University can't ensure hostel accommodation to all the students.   Candidates seeking admission into hostels are advised to bring five copies of passport size photos and Xerox copies of caste and income certificate each in duplicate and the prescribed fee.  Hostel admission will be made by the Chief Warden of the respective Hostel subject to availability of accommodation and also as per the University Hostel rules and the admission is subject to the rules of University Hostels in force from time to time.   If the candidate gets Hostel admission, he she/ has to pay caution deposit fee of Rs. 2,000/- in the case of OC; Rs. 1,200/- in the case of LBC and Rs. 600/- in the case of SC/ST/BC-C.  In addition to this, the candidate should also pay an amount of Rs. 250/- towards Hostel Development fee. 

As regards the hostel accommodation in the Affiliated Colleges, it is subject to availability with them. 
 

XV

Candidate at the time of admission has to exercise his/her option, as per the list of colleges given in the admission information brochure of AUCET-2005 and according to number of vacancies available at the time of calling of his/her name by the Admission Committee.  Once the option is exercised, no further changes will be made under any circumstances.  The candidate has to select the course of study prior to the commencement of admission. 
 

XVI

Ragging in any form by any student will make him/her liable for expulsion/punishment as per A.P. Ragging Act 26 of 1997 and subsequent verdict of the Hon'ble Supreme Court.  The admitted candidates have to give an undertaking to this effect and hand it over to the concerned Principal of the College where he/she gets admission.
 

XVII

University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the seats though they are earmarked in this Interview Memo.  University also reserves the right to cancel the admission memo, at any stage, even though already sent.   All the admissions are purely provisional. University reserves the right to deny the admission of the candidates if the University finds the antecedents of the candidate bad.  If the University finds the antecedents of the candidates bad subsequent to the admission of the candidate into any course, his/her admission shall be cancelled.
 

XVIII

Examinations shall be conducted at the end of each semester/academic year.  No supplementary examination will be conducted.
 

XIX

Candidate is directed to bring this Memo along with him/her while attending to the Venue.
