AUCET 2005 Admissions

All candidates attending the AUCET-2005 counseling are directed to report at TLN Sabha Hall/Physics Department (Clock Tower Building) near Out-gate, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on the date and time specified in the enclosed Admission Schedule with the following Original Certificates.   

Certificates Required

  1. Rank certificate issued by the Convener, AUCET-2005
  2. Hall ticket issued by the Convener, AUCET-2005
  3. Statement of marks and Provisional Degree Certificate
  4. Local Candidate Certificate/Certificate for the Non-local category issued by the appropriate authority.
  5. Transfer and Conduct Certificate from the institution where the candidate has last studied for the qualifying examination.
  6. Study Certificates from IX standard onwards issued by the Heads of the respective institutes.
  7. Date of birth certificate (SSC or Matriculation or equivalent certificate).
  8. Four attested copies of passport size photos recently taken
  9. Migration Certificate (in case of candidates from other Universities only)
  10. Physical fitness certificate from the Medical Officer of Andhra University or from a Civil Assistant Surgeon.
  11. Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/BC candidates
  12. Latest Income Certificate in case of eligible SC/ST/BC candidates issued by the competent authority (Validity of Certificate is one year from the date of issue)
  13. Draft(s) for fee.


  1. Admission will be made according to the rank obtained in the concerned test in AUCET-2005 and based on the rules noted in the Admission Information Brochure-2005 and the distribution of seats for various categories in various P.G. Courses offered by AU and its affiliated colleges, see University Website for full details.
  2. Candidate seeking admission into a particular course should fulfill all eligibility criteria for that course as specified in the admission information brochure of AUCET-2005. Such of those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria and not having any of the relevant certificates will not be permitted for counseling. Candidates passed in Instant Examination of 2005 are also eligible for admission.
  3. Candidates have to submit Demand Draft(s) on any nationalized bank drawn in favour of "Registrar, Andhra University" payable at Visakhapatnam for the prescribed course fee as given in the enclosure along with the certificates. The admission application cannot be processed without the Demand Draft.

    If there are two types of fee structures in a course, say, regular and self-finance seats, and if the candidate is willing to join even the self-finance seat, he/she has to bring two DDs, one for the regular fee and the other for the difference of self-finance fee and regular fee.

    For example if the regular fee is Rs.3,500/- and fee for self-finance seat is Rs.20,000/-, two DDs must be submitted, one for Rs.3,500/- and the other for Rs.16,500/-. If the candidate joins the regular course, the other DD, ie., for Rs.16,500/- will be returned. If the candidate joins the self-finance seat, both the DDs will be retained by the University.
  4. All certificates in respect of reservation categories like SC, ST, LBC, Caste conversion, etc., are subject to scrutiny by appropriate Governmental agencies.
  5. Candidates seeking admission under sports, PH, NCC, CAP are directed to appear before admission committee along with all original certificates in support of the claim for verification by the Committee. The admissions are based on the priorities fixed by the panel of experts and subject to availability of seats in the particular course/college, according to the rules mentioned in Admission Brochure information AUCET-2005. Only local candidates are eligible for admission under NCC, PH, CAP and Sports categories.
  6. No extension of time either for producing certificates or for payment of fee shall be granted and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
General Instructions
  1. The number of seats available under each category in various Science courses of study at AU College of Science and Technology, Visakhapatnam/Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG Centre, Vizianagaram, Etcherla (Srikakulam), Tadepalligudem and other affiliated colleges offering PG Courses, fee particulars and admission schedules are given in the Andhra University Website.

  2. The number of candidates called for interview is generally 5 to 20 times the number of seats available. The admission process is likely to continue for the next day. The candidates should come prepared to stay for one or two days more.

  3. Admission of the candidate is purely provisional. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage. Candidates getting admission by producing false information/certificates are liable for prosecution. Their seats will be cancelled without any notice on the detection of the fraud at any time during their course of study.

  4. Admission is liable to be cancelled, if the student does not put in continuous attendance for a period of 10 days without valid reason from the date of commencement of the classes ie., from 1-7-2005.

  5. A student once admitted into a course will get his/her original certificates only after completion of the course. Hence, they are directed to keep sufficient number of photocopies of their certificates with them.

  6. Sanction of course fee under post-metric scholarship to eligible SC students studying regular/self-finance courses at postgraduate level is limited to Rs.20,000/- per year only (as per G.O.Ms.No.56, W.W. Edn.2 Dept., Dated 6-10-2003). The extra fee amount over and above Rs.20,000/- have to be paid by the eligible SC candidates at the time of counseling. However, Govt. sanctions only the regular fee if both regular & self-finance seats are existing in the subject.

  7. SC/ST/BC-C candidates seeking admission into PG courses and whose parental/guardian annual income is less than Rs.38,220/- are eligible for the sanction of course fee by the Department of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh. However, if the candidate does not get the sanction of the course fee amount by the Department of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh, he/she may have to pay the prescribed course fee mentioned in the fee structure enclosure against 'Others' column later. The candidate has to give an undertaking at the time of admission to this effect.

  8. Listed Backward Classes candidates (BC-A, BC-B and BC-D) seeking admission into PG courses offered at AU Colleges, AU PG Centre, Etcherla (Srikakulam) and whose parental/guardian annual income does not exceed Rs.33,400/- are eligible for the sanction of Rs.860/- only to the candidates who join the regular seats by the Department of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh. Candidates who join the self-finance courses are not eligible for the sanction of any fee by the Department of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh.

  9. Changes in admission schedule, if any, will be intimated by post and also by Newspapers/All India Radio and Doordarshan announcements. Do not rely on telegrams; they may be false.

  10. Educational Tours/Training Programmes/Field works wherever prescribed (in the Departments of Marine Living Resources, Geology, Zoology, Botany, Nuclear Physics and Physical & Nuclear Chemistry and Marine Chemistry) are compulsory. The courses are not completed unless those programmes are attended by the students. All candidates having tour programmes have to pay appropriate tour fee, to the concerned Head of the Department directly at the time of arranging tour.

  11. Limited Hostel accommodation is available for the students who get admission in the University Campus Colleges. Hence, University cannot ensure hostel accommodation to all the students. Candidates seeking admission into hostels are advised to bring five copies of passport size photos and photocopies of caste and income certificate each in duplicate and the prescribed fee. Hostel admission will be made by the Chief Warden of the respective Hostel subject to availability of accommodation and also as per the University Hostel rules and the admission is subject to the rules of University Hostels in force from time to time. If the candidate gets hostel admission, he/she has to pay Rs.2,795/- in the case of OC; Rs.1,995/- in the case of eligible LBC and Rs.1,395/- in the case of eligible SC/ST/BC-C categories.

  12. Sliding is allowed from the 2nd phase ( i.e., Extended Counselling) from college to college and also from subject to another subject on the basis of availability of seats. One candidate can avail sliding only once. Rs. 500/- should be paid at the time of sliding.
